About Us

Who we are
Bethel Baptist Church is a welcoming, lively, evangelical, all age church family. People join us from a range of backgrounds and countries.

As a Bible based church we have discovered that our personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ has been life changing.

Christians have worshipped in Llantwit Major (Llanilltyd Fawr) (Big Church of IIltyd) since 500AD and local Christians have faithfully worshipped and served God over the centuries through lean times and seasons of Revival see 1859 and 1904.

Baptists have been worshipping in Llantwit Major since 1819 and the church was formally constituted with the present church building completed in 1830.
