Knowing Christ through public worship and personal discipleship
1. Our Public worship is offered to God, focused on Jesus Christ and inspired by the Holy Spirit and the Bible. Our worship leaders and worship team draw on the most relevant modern and traditional styles. Colossians 3:16.
We celebrate Communion weekly; offer services of Dedication to parents of young children and of Believers Baptism to adults who have become Christians. We celebrate annual Festivals.
2. Our preaching & teaching is bible based, recognising that the bible is inspired by God see 2 Timothy 3:16. We seek to share and to apply Christian teaching to our daily lives as a way of helping us to grow as Christians.
3. We believe that prayer is also a way in which we can develop our Relationship with God. Through prayer we bring to God the needs of our community, nation and the world. We have a weekly Prayer Meeting and a Prayer Chain network, which supports those who face pressing needs. We also offer personal prayer during and after all of our services. Philippians 4:6
4. We offer pastoral and practical care for our church family extending this where possible to the local community. Jn. 21:16 especially for those facing long term challenges and sudden life changes.
5. We have discovered that whatever our age, belonging to a small group can be a great way to grow in our faith and bring about changes in lifestyle.
6. Church Family Social Events are a good way to relax, catch up with folk and to make new friends John 15:17.
7. We want to help everyone to discover their God given gifts and to find a way to make a difference by using them. 1 Corinthians 12:27.
8. Bethel has a Leadership Team of Minister and Deacons. Along with team leaders and members at our Members Meetings, we seek to discover and develop God's plan for our church within the community and beyond.
